      Once enrolled in a Distance Education course, students must
      retrieve and read the Welcome Letter emailed to their GCC
      student  email account  2-5 days prior  to the  beginning of
      the term. This Welcome Letter will explain the policies and
      procedures of the course and how to complete the Check-In
      Assignment by Thursday night of a 4-8 week course or by
      Sunday night of a 10-16 week course to establish attendance
      and not be dropped.
