Thanks for visiting my pages at the Glendale Community College web site. You can learn here about my 'Earth Revealed' telecourse and the Physical Geology class, Environmental Geology (Lecture and Lab.) and Oceanography (Lecture and Lab.) classes. These pages, and the links therein, will also give you information about earthquakes, particularly the seismicity in Southern California, volcanism, plate tectonism, El Nino, global climate change, atmospheric and ocean circulation, energy and other earth resources, and the related environmental issues. As you will notice, I am also interested in business administration and business management classes and invite you to explore the links on my BusAd 101 page.

Hello and Welcome.

These pages deal with the three broad themes in earth sciences that we cover at the Glendale Community College:

bullet

Physical Geology,

bullet

Oceanography, and

bullet

Geoenvironmental Studies.

In the process, these pages will tell you about earthquakes, volcanism and the similar natural disasters, such other geological processes and effects as plate tectonics, geomagnetism, hydrological cycle, atmospheric circulation and ocean currents and such

Learn about the Community College Institute of Science and Technology (CCI), a U.S. Department of Energy program that places students from community colleges in paid internships in Science and Engineering and Technology at any of several different locations. Students work with scientists or engineers on projects related to the laboratories' research programs. They also attend career planning and numerous training/informational sessions. The different laboratories each offer different research opportunities (see Choosing a Lab).
