Face the class and speak clearly.
Use multiple modes to deliver content:
electronic, audio, video, etc.
Alternate delivery methods, including
lecture, discussion, hands-on activities, internet-based
instruction,and
fieldwork.
Provide study guides to enable students
to listen for essential concepts.
When you ask a question in class, make
sure everyone has the opportunity to participate. This may mean
pausing until the question has been interpreted and can physically
be responded to.
When giving instructions, clarify you
have been understood by asking for questions.
Allow
audio recording of lectures or
provide student with copy of instructor notes.
Provide clear expectations and direct
instruction, not just in what you want your students to
learn, but in how
they should go about accomplishing it.
