Interested in Being a Scholar?

The Glendale Community College Scholars Program is the College’s honors program. Scholars is actually three
programs in one: an academic program with 15 units of Honors general education and pre-major courses that
students plan with the Scholars counselors; an active community service organization; and a vibrant social club. Good
standing in the program is maintained through high academic performance and dedicated and active participation
in Scholars meetings and events each semester. Scholars demands time and effort, offering benefits as well-rounded

students upon program completion and transfer.

In their academic, service, and social contexts, Scholars develop bonds with fellow students. Scholars benefit from
priority registration, specialized counseling, and smaller class sizes.

Students who successfully complete the Scholars Program benefit from enhanced admissions consideration through
the UCLA College of Letters and Science, through the UCLA Transfer Alliance Program. GCC is a member of the
Honors Transfer Council of California. In addition, campuses nationwide recognize GCC’s Scholars Program as a

competitive edge on transfer applications.
