PARKING
PASSENGER DROP-OFF ZONES
DROP-OFF ZONE ON VERDUGO ROAD
The passenger drop off zone is located on Verdugo Road in front
of the college. This zone is for the IMMEDIATE LOADING and/or
UNLOADING OF PASSENGERS ONLY. Parking and/or waiting in your
vehicle for the passenger(s) to arrive is prohibited. Be sure persons
are waiting on the sidewalk area before pulling up to the drop-off
zone. Do not drop off at any driveway entrance to the college. Do
not load or unload passengers in any red zones. Violations may
result in a citation by the Glendale Police Department or Glendale
Community College District Police Department. You may also receive
these citations in the mail.
DISABLED DROP-OFF ZONE
There is a designated disabled drop-off zone located in Lot F
on the campus, off of Towne and Verdugo Road. Follow painted
arrows when entering or exiting the drop-off zone. There is a
second disabled drop-off zone in Lot C, Level One. THESE ZONES
ARE FOR THE IMMEDIATE LOADING AND/OR UNLOADING OF
DISABLED PASSENGERS ONLY.
PARKING PERMITS
Parking on the GCC campus requires a permit 365 days a year.
You are required to display a parking permit while parked on
campus. If you are unable to purchase a semester permit, daily
permits are available from the Pay and Display machines at the
entrance to the GCC parking structure or you may pay the meters
and park in the city parking lots. Parking is not free and there
are no grace periods. Parking permits are ALWAYS REQUIRED. If
you do not display a parking permit, you are subject to citation.
Garfield Campus does not require parking permits.
DAILY PARKING PERMITS
• If a Pay and Display machine in the area you have parked is
inoperable, it is the responsibility of the purchaser to find
an alternate Pay and Display machine which is operational
in order to purchase the required parking permit.
• Permits are not transferable from person to person, and are
valid only for the day printed on the daily permit.
• Guests who are attending special events at the college are
required to purchase and display a valid daily parking permit, by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) allow the vehicle to be
or guests may choose to park in Lot F or the city lots and
pay the meters.
• Students are encouraged to purchase a daily permit during
the first week of the semester or intersession to allow time
to purchase a semester parking permit. Daily permits are
valid for the day posted on the daily permit.
Daily parking permits are available for $3.00 at the entrance
to the GCC parking structure from the Pay and Display machines
(there are five machines on the outside of the structure). The
Pay and Display machines accept quarters and credit/debit cards.
Daily permits must be displayed face-up, on the driver’s side of the
vehicle’s dashboard and be clearly visible. The daily permits are
valid for the entire day/evening in Lot 30, Lot B and the upper four
floors of the GCC parking structure (Levels 3-6) during the week,
Monday-Friday. On weekends, the daily permits are valid in Lots B or
C. Vehicles not displaying a permit properly are subject to citation.
Parking will be enforced seven days per week including holidays.

SEMESTER PARKING PERMITS
Student semester parking permits are honored in Lot B and the
upper four floors of the parking structure (Levels 3-6) as well as
the city parking Lots 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, and the Civic Auditorium
Parking Structure. A student will not have to pay the parking
meters in the city parking lots if he/she purchases and displays
a valid student (semester) parking permit; however, the student
is only allowed to park in the city parking lots for the specified
time that is designated for each lot. Signs in the lots specify the
hourly limit. Check posted signs for restrictions. STUDENT PERMITS
ARE NOT VALID FOR STREET PARKING. Many streets in the area
surrounding the school are “Resident Permit Parking Only”. Do
not park in restricted areas, you will be subject to citation, and
your vehicle may be towed. Permits are not valid at street meters
unless indicated by posted sign. The permit is valid from 6:00 a.m.
to 11:00 p.m. daily.
Purchasing a semester parking permit does not guarantee a
parking spot and previous semester permits are not valid in any
lot. Permits are not transferable from person to person; however
they may be used in other vehicles which the student uses.
STAFF AND FACULTY PARKING PERMITS
Faculty and staff must park in their assigned lots; however,
they may also park in Lot C for overflow. Staff and faculty must
display a valid parking permit at all times while parked on the
Verdugo Campus of GCC or at the Garfield Campus. Permits are not
transferable from person to person; however they may be used in
other vehicles which the staff or faculty member uses.
MOTORCYCLES
Motorcycles, mopeds, and motorized scooters must be parked
in designated motorcycle parking spaces only. These designated
spaces are located next to the track at Sartoris Field, in Lot F, or at
the north end of City Lot 32. Motorcycles, mopeds, and motorized
scooters must display a motorcycle sticker permit while parked on
GCC campus. Owners should contact College Police Department
to obtain a sticker permit.
DISABLED PLACARDS OR DISABLED PERSON’S LICENSE PLATES
Disabled placards and/or disabled person’s license plates issued
parked in any parking space on GCC properties to which the driver
has access. However, parking may be restricted and prohibited for
special circumstances such as board meetings, public safety access
and emergencies, special events, training, and executive level
assigned parking. Additionally, parking in red zones, blocking
driveways, blocking roadway access, and blocking evacuation routes
is prohibited.Designated disabled spaces are located throughout
the campus in student and staff lots. A valid GCC parking permit, as
well as a valid Disabled Placard or Disabled Person’s License Plate,
is required to park on the GCC campus. Vehicles with Disabled
Placards or Disabled Person’s License Plates may park free of charge
in any metered parking spaces as long as the Disabled Placard
and/or Disabled Person’s License Plates are displayed. Metered
parking spaces are located in Lot F on the campus, off of Towne
and Verdugo Road as well as in the city parking lots.
