COST OF ATTENDANCE

2019-2020 GCC Cost of Attendance

Periodically, the CCC Chancellor’s Office, the UC system, the CSU system, and some private universities in
collaboration with the California Student Aid Commission conduct a state-wide SEARS (Student Expense and
Resource Survey) study. The results are distributed as recommended student budget ranges by the CCC
Chancellor’s Office. The last SEARS study was conducted in 2006-2007. GCC Cost of Attendance student budgets
are developed annually using this data from the California Student Aid Commission annual student budgets,
rounded up to the next highest even number so that costs for one semester can more easily be determined.
