Letting students know well in advance
of test dates gives them the opportunity to make arrangements for
test proctoring.
Provide multiple ways for students to
demonstrate knowledge, including tests, papers, group work,
demonstrations, portfolios, presentations, peer mentoring, and
cooperative learning.
Give more frequent exams that are
shorter in length; ex. A test every two chapters, rather than just a
midterm
and a final.
Expect the same quality of work from a
student with disabilities as you do from your other students.
You
are not doing them a favor by accepting inferior work, by assigning
mercy grades, or by passing a student
who has not mastered the course material.
