How Can You be Assured that an Accommodation is Appropriate?
Colleges have the right to maintain academic standards, integrity, and freedom to determine the fundamental requirements of their individual courses and programs.
Examine each course you teach and decide on the essential content and procedures. Ask yourself questions such as these:
Any of your program requirements that are not considered fundamental could then be considered for reasonable accommodation to otherwise qualified students on a case-by-case basis. Accommodations should make the academic environment manageable without fundamentally altering the curriculum. |
