Art/Art Appreciation Classes for Blind Students?

Classes in art appreciation/film studies or classes that rely primarily on visual mediums may seem unsuitable for a blind or low vision student.  However, the student who is blind or has low vision should have the opportunity to become familiar with the world's great art/ film/geography, etc.

A student assistant who has been approved as an appropriate accommodation can assist the student  who is blind as a visual "interpreter" or "translator" in the classroom and labs.

Or Alternate Media Tags can be used in on-line materials so that a blind/low vision student can get a description of the art piece/geographic picture, etc.

The point is that certain disabilities (in this case, blindness/low vision) do not automatically preclude participation in certain activities or classes.
