INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Glendale Community College welcomes students from all
nationalities who desire to study in the United States on the
F-1 Student Visa category. The College has traditionally ranked
in the top-40 nationwide of community colleges enrolling
international students.
The International Student Office provides full support services
for its students, which include: admissions and enrollment
information; academic counseling and immigration advis-
ing; a new student orientation each semester; special student
programming activities, along with providing information on
off-campus housing and “homestay” host family placements
and administering a mandatory group health insurance plan
for all International students.
International students who seek admission to GCC may receive
application forms and information from the International
Student Office located in the Sierra Vista Building, third floor.

International Student Office hours are Monday through Thurs-
day 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
In order to be admitted to GCC, International students must
submit the following application forms and supporting docu-
ments:
• International Student Application Form and Application
Processing Fee ($60.00 USD).
• Official transcripts and diploma of High School completion,
along with any college/university coursework completed.
Certified English translations are required.
• Proof of English proficiency, such as TOEFL or IELTS results,
orresultsfromarecognizedLanguageSchoolprogram(refer
to Application Requirements from International Students
web pages for details).
• Affidavit of Support Form and Bank Statement; refer to web
pages for total costs required.
• One-page personal essay on academic and career goals.
• Passport picture name page.
Note: International students under 18 years of age must show High School
or Secondary School equivalency of completion (as defined by
country system attended) by the time they report and register for the UCLA College of Letters and Science, through the UCLA
semester classes.
It is strongly recommended that all applicants, especially those
applying directly from overseas, complete the above admission
requirements by the recommended deadlines listed on the Inter-
national Students web pages, to ensure timely visa processing
and registration for full-time study.
The College offers admission to international students for the
Fall and Spring semesters, along with short-term Winter and
Summer sessions for those students transferring inside the
country on valid immigration documents.

MyGCC is a private website available to GCC students
after they have applied for admission and have received a
student ID number. Log on to MyGCC from home, or from
any computer with an Internet connection. Go to MyGCC.
glendale.edu 24/7. Enter your Student ID and Password, and
access a wide range of information, most of it personalized.
Students are responsible for activating their college issued
email address and monitoring their MyGCC student portal.
All official correspondence from the college will be sent to
your college issued email address.
MyGCC provides students with their current and previous
class schedules, registration information, student e-mail,
financial aid information, and course history, including
grades. Students can also change their mailing address
through MyGCC. Through links, students can also connect
to many GCC resources such as registration, class schedules,
library workshops, scholarships, and more.

schedule prior to registration.
3. Enroll - Click the Enroll button to confirm classes in
your shopping cart. Click Finish Enrolling, review your
new class schedule.
4. Pay-Click on make a payment to view outstanding charges.
SCHOLARS PROGRAM

The Glendale Community College Scholars Program is
the College’s honors program. The Scholars Program has
been created to serve the needs of academically promising
students, offering them opportunities for more intensive
study, plus service and collegial friendships. The Scholars
Program is based on a 5-course core curriculum that par-
ticipants plan individually with the Scholars Counselor.
The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking and in-depth
analysis of issues.
Students who successfully complete the Scholars Program
benefit from enhanced admissions consideration through
Transfer Alliance Program (TAP); the Scholars Program
Director and Scholars Counselor certify qualified Scholars
for their TAP applications to UCLA. Good standing for TAP
certification and Scholars Program completion indicate a
strong academic and Scholars service record. GCC is also
a member of the Honors Transfer Council of California,
which has a growing number of college and university
transfer partners. In general, campuses nationwide rec-
ognize GCC’s Scholars Program as a competitive edge on
students’ transfer applications.
Academic advancement and transfer assistance are the
main advantages of being a Scholar. Further, also as a pri-

valuable charity and community service efforts, both on
