Research Guide for English 101: Literary Criticism Research on Kazuo Ishiguro

Useful Reserve and Reference Books with Literary Criticism on Kazuo Ishiguro

There are three books currently on Reserve for your use. You may not check these out, but you may use them in the library. Go to the GCC Library Circulation Desk and ask for, the books on Kazuo Ishiguro that are on reserve for Professor Kartalian’s ENG 101 class.”  The specific titles are:

Although you may not check out reference books, the print reference collection contains many excellent articles on Kazuo Ishiguro and his works.  You may make photocopies of these articles. Remember to write down the citation information for each of your sources so that you will be able to compile your bibliography. 1. Select ProQuest from the alphabetical list under the Articles Tab.

Try using some other keywords related to your topic, such as memory, alienation, deception, or guilt.

Play around with different kinds of searches!

2. Another way to obtain good results is by conducting a Topics search. Click on the tab for Topics, and type in Kazuo Ishiguro.  Select either “Ishiguro, Kazuo (person) AND Novels” or “Ishiguro, Kazuo (person) AND Literary Criticism,” which are the most relevant.
