Sometimes these
disabilities are not readily noticed and this type of situation can
lead to misunderstandings.
An instructor may
look at a student and think,
“You know he/she
looks like every other student in the class, why should they need a
note-taker?”
Or,
“Why do you need
extra time on the test?”
Psychological
disabilities may be “invisible” to you as a faculty member, but they
can greatly impact on the students’ participation and learning.
