Students with learning disabilities display a myriad of differing characteristics.  Some may be great at remembering what they hear, but they're horrible spellers.  Others may be able to perform advanced calculations, but can’t remember their multiplication tables.  They fill a normal curve of distribution in intellectual ability, from just barely average to genius level.

 

Even though students with disabilities show a great deal of variance, they do share a few common characteristics.
