SOCIAL AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES |
These courses emphasize individual behavior and
behavior in human social, political, and economic institutions. The pattern of
coursework completed will ensure opportunities for students to develop
understanding of the perspectives and methods of the social and behavioral
sciences. Students will be exposed to a pattern of coursework designed to help
them gain an understanding and appreciation of the contributions and
perspectives of men, women and of ethnic and other minorities and a comparative
perspective on both Western and non-Western societies. This area of emphasis is
recommended for transfer students seeking an Associate Degree prior to
transferring to a college or university pursuing a major in the social and
behavioral sciences. All courses used to satisfy the major for the Associate in Arts degree must
be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
