Introduction to the Series

Welcome!  And thank you for choosing to participate in this online training for Glendale Community College’s faculty.  We feel very fortunate to be working with dedicated professionals such as yourself: an individual who is interested in the academic success of all of your students.

Although the focus on these pages is primarily on students with disabilities, they are certainly not the only students at GCC with diverse learning styles.  The materials in this series follow the pedagogy of Universal Learning Design; that is, the use of multi-modal methods of instruction, class activities, and methods of evaluation designed to remove potential blockades to learning. Therefore, students in the nondisabled population stand to benefit from the application of these best practices in education as well.
