FIRE TECHNOLOGY

Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will discuss the skills required for fire prevention techniques; discuss the aspects of fire behavior; discuss the skills required for fire-fighting tactics and strategy; and discuss the skills required for the use of equipment used in fire protection.
This program is offered for students interested in preparing for careers in fire prevention and fire fighting. The courses also provide in-service and upgrade instruction for fire fighting personnel. Students will demonstrate the skills required in the field of fire technology. These skills include: fire prevention techniques, behavior of fire, fire fighting tactics and strategy, and the equipment used in fire protection. Other topics may include: fire investigation, hazardous materials, building construction, and crisis intervention.
