Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will be able to discuss the skills required for fire prevention techniques; discuss the aspects of fire behavior; discuss the skills required for fire-fighting tactics and strategy; and discuss the skills required for the use of equipment used in fire protection. The Verdugo Fire Academy is a State Board of Fire Services and California State Fire Marshal's accredited Regional Fire Academy sponsored by Glendale Community College and the Glendale Fire Department. Students receive a variety of California State Fire Marshal certificates upon graduation from the Academy.
This certificate does not satisfy the major requirements for the Associate in Science degree.
